New Year. New Resolu----- I mean GOALS!

It can't be a new year without any new year resolutions, or what I like to call them goals. I prefer to call them goals because resolutions are always a negative trigger to me. I feel when people say they have new year resolutions it gives them a sense of trying to change something vague in their lives like new years resolutions of trying to lose weight by the end of the year or travel a lot more. New Year resolutions are never as effortful or precise as New Year Goals.

When I think of goals, I think of short-term and long-term goals. I get more precise on what I am trying to accomplish in a matter of a realistic timeline. Instead of saying I want to lose weight by the end of the year, I get more concise and really think how much I want to lose and about how long it may take.

Therefore, I really instead of making vague New Year Resolutions that may not stick, I do short-term and long-term goals.

For example, my main New Year Goal I have (I had since 2015 honesty...) is to lose weight. I actually have lost over 30lbs since 2019 (new blog about my weight loss journey coming up soon) but I still have yet to get to my fitness goal. Therefore, I have to actually sit down and really think about how I will get to that place by a given time.

My goal is to be 155lbs and be at the my most healthiest self by the end of the year. I want to have strong bulk arms and a round butt. In other words, I want to have a great body by the end of the year. That is my long-term goal because I have a whole year to achieve it.

However, I still have my short-term goals of my fitness journey. I want to weight 155 lbs by June because I will be going to Mexico and also it is my birthday month so I want to feel confident AF by summer. However, I know that my body will not be at its most fittest because building muscle takes a long progress, so I am not pushing to have a big butt and a six pack by June because it may not be doable. I mean it could be possible but by how I am trying to be fit and healthy is to lose weight slowly to help maintain it more then if I were to lose 30lbs in 5 months.

Anyways, my short-term goals is setting small goals each month to help me get to where I want to be by June. So for this first month of January, I want to be 2lbs down from where I am at now.

It's just setting small goals in short terms in order to get to your main long term goal.

Another of my New Year Goals is I want to travel more. Now I know this goal may seem unrealistically seeing how the world is currently, but I have been dreaming of traveling a lot more since growing up I never left my hometown.

Honesty, having goals to travel and go on more adventures this year seems doable. I am not even saying I will travel across Europe and Africa, but I am just saying that in months I want to travel to places I never been that are close to my hometown and even visit Mexico, the town my parents grew up at and to meet my family there since I never been.

Now if by any chance, things get better some of the places I want to visit includes going up to Seattle, possibly visit Chicago, Palm Springs in June, Mexico... and well maybe other places too but I can't be too unrealistic.

Other of my New Year Goals... wow I have many.

This year my main goal was to go and do things I kept pushing and holding back to. Things like pursuing my online blog, photography business and youtube channel career.

Woah... that is a lot of content.

I know it is. But I swear those are the main things I always wanted to pursue. Since the beginning of high school, I wanted to start a youtube channel, but I never did because I was so unsure of how to start or where but years later I am now looking back and wishing I could go back and made my dreams happen sooner. I also been wanting to start a photography business but this has been a bit more recent then youtube. I began to be interested doing photography because I wanted it to be a side hustle that I was very passionate about and enjoyed doing. Lastly, starting a Blog has been something I never dreamt of pursuing but adding all my interests together came out being a blog where I can post it all. Like a place I can post my pictures, my ideas, my content, as well as write about them- something else I love doing.

Is there more?

Honesty I guess, there is a lot more goals I have but those were the main ones. The rest of my goals I have are those corny ones that most girls have which are to become the most happiest selves by doing more self care- such as, writing, reading, and exercising more.

Those are things I have been trying to do since pre-quaruntine and honesty I do two of those. I am still working on reading more- but does reading tik toks and blogs count?

Anyways, those are my 2021 New Year Goals. Honesty, out of every year that I have gone through the same New Year Goals or Resolutions.. whatever I called them.. I know this year I will achieve the most of them... or in fact, all of them, and I know that when I do my 2021 Year Recap, I will be the most proud when I say that I know I wish I could have started sooner, but it was never to late that I started now then if I continued to wait another year for me not to reach for my dreams.

Until next time.

PS. Also let me know what your New Year Goals are and also if you call them New Year Goals or New Year Resolutions. I honesty don't have anything against resolutions, but I think I heard it being called goals as more effective in a college course that made me see it in a different perspective but whichever works for you. ;)
